People and Street Photography

I enjoy ‘Street Photography’ in its broadest sense. Basically I love taking scenes with interesting people in them, particularly if there is the opportunity to photograph someone from a quirky perspective. I try to make images that have humour, capture a particular mood or enable the viewer to use their imagination to build a storyline..…..or are simply beautiful, of course.

Candid shots are great for capturing a moment in time, but sometimes I ask strangers if I can take their portrait. This can be a bit daunting, but generally they are happy to oblige.

There are more examples of Street Photography and Portraits in the Black and White section.

I also like to capture people in my landscapes and seascapes. It can help give a sense of scale to the landscape but can also add an element of humanity, intimacy or humour to the image. Please visit ‘The Coast’ and ‘Landscapes, Buildings and Places’ galleries to see some examples.
