‘Decay’

Finding beauty and interesting images in rusting or rotting structures which form features in the landscape. Boats, buildings, vehicles or just rotting trees can all make interesting subjects, which evoke thoughts of the ‘life stories’ they may have witnessed. Often these can be found within beautiful landscapes drawing out the contrast between the beauty and the ugly and between finite lifetimes and timelessness. This type of photography lends itself to contrasty images, either colour or monochrome, which bring out the textures, tones and details.
